FAQ

Questions and
plain answers.

The questions community boards and members ask most about Elele. If yours is not here, write to us.

MONEY AND TRANSPARENCY

Money, donations and documents.

Does Elele hold the community’s money?

No. Elele keeps records and documents; the money always stays in the community’s own cash box and bank account. Dues or donations paid by card go straight to the community’s account through a payment provider, and the product posts them to the ledger with a receipt.

Can we collect donations?

Yes. Members and supporters can donate by card; every donation is posted to the ledger with a numbered receipt and can be linked to a need. For some types of community, raising funds widely from non-members may require official permission; obtaining it is the community’s responsibility.

How is spending documented?

Every expense is recorded with its receipt, invoice or bank slip and linked to the resolution or need behind it. Payments from the bank account match a bank transaction. Every change to a record stays in the audit trail with who made it and when.

What do members see?

Each member sees their own dues, their receipts and the community’s shared income and expense summary, and follows announcements, events and resolutions. Other members’ arrears, aid recipients’ names and the ledger detail are open only to authorised roles.

How do I create a community?

Click “Create a community”, sign up with your phone number and choose your type of community: village or hometown association, residential building, animal welfare group, sports club, association or foundation, or volunteer group. The right modules and wording come ready; then you invite your members.

Is Elele paid?

Yes, you can start with Elele for free; setting up your community and inviting members costs nothing.

Can we change the community type later?

Yes. An informal volunteer group that becomes an association, for example, can change its type; members, records and history stay in the same community. Only the wording and the suggested set of modules change, and you can switch modules on or off at any time.

DEVICES AND DATA

Devices, internet and your data.

Which devices does it work on?

Any phone, tablet or computer with an up-to-date browser. You can install the app on your home screen or desktop; there is no app store download.

What happens without internet?

You keep working. Collections, expenses, attendance and notes are saved on the device and sync on their own when you reconnect. Receipt numbers come from the server, so the numbered receipt is issued during sync.

Where is my data kept?

The community’s records are kept on the server, with a copy on the device you use so that you can work offline. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our service providers and where the data is located are listed in the privacy policy.

Can I export my data?

Yes. The board can export the member list, income and expense records, receipts and resolutions as spreadsheet files. Every member can also download their own data from the app’s settings.
